Safety

The information listed below allows you to ensure that you are using your candles and home fragrance products safely. Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in fire, hazards, or injury.

Natural safety

We strongly believe in using materials that will not harm a person’s health.  We only use natural soy wax which is derived from soya beans.  Mass-produced candles and wax melts that are available from shops are often made with paraffin wax. This is toxic and made from crude oil. There can be serious side effects from paraffin products including headaches, sickness, respiratory disorders, and many more.

Clean for you and the environment

Radiance & Aroma recommends only using natural-based waxes such as soy, bees, and coconut. We want you to enjoy your candles, wax melts, votives, and tealights by choosing a clean-burning natural wax that is good for you and the environment.

Burn time

For best results please burn your candle for a minimum of 1 - 2 hours the first time or until the entire surface has melted fully, this will stop the candle from tunnelling.

Night time

Never leave a lit candle unattended, always extinguish all candles when leaving the room or before retiring for the night.  Never use a candle as a night light.

Ventilation

Only burn the candle for a maximum of 4 hours in a single session, and always ensure it is in a well-ventilated room.

Extinguish

Extinguish a candle if it repeatedly smokes, flickers, or if the flame becomes too high. Where possible use a snuffer to extinguish a candle. Never extinguish candles with water.

Caution

Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.  Keep away from any fire hazards and flammable materials.

Wick care

Trim the wick to ¼ inch each time before lighting, keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times. A wick that is too long may crackle and pop when lit.

Goodbye time

Know when to say goodbye to your candle - when only 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to let your candle go. The glass can break or shatter with too little wax in it.

Stay put

Always put your candle on a flat, heat resistant surfaces, and ensure it is away from any drafts.  A burning candle should not be touched until it is extinguished and cooled.

Cool down

Always allow the wax to cool and solidify before re-lighting the candle, this will help to extend the life of your candle while almost maximising the fragrance throw.

How much?

Reach the required fill level by adding one piece of wax melt at a time.  Equally, 1-2 wax melt flowers or hearts will be sufficient to use. Do not overfill the wax melt burner as wax will spill over.

Burners

Use an appropriate wax melt burner (either electric or with a tealight) for your tealights.
